The gun control nuts are at it again – talking heads and politicians calling for tighter gun laws. And the left is once again spearheading the effort with Obama’s “political” speech and Hillary’s efforts to close gun sale loopholes – as if there are any loopholes left to close.
Hillary also says she wants to repeal the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act,” which protects gun dealers and manufacturers from prosecution (or should I say persecution) should one of their weapons be used for nefarious purposes.
Can you imagine the feeding frenzy of the Democrat slip and fall trial lawyers on the gun industry if that were repealed. It would be carnage and the end of most gun manufacturers.
Our society today has been so neutered, so conditioned, that instead of people taking it upon themselves to protect their schools, we look to our nanny government for answers.
Will we ever figure out that our government, as always, is once again the cause of the problem? Never mind suing the gun manufacturers – we should be able to sue the government for facilitating this problem – for setting up “gun free zones.” Still, everyone looks to our great leaders for guidance as to how to solve this “epidemic,” because that’s what sheep do.
But what about the actual victims? Why not ask them what may have helped, instead of our ivory tower pampered politicians with their well armed security details. I find it ironic that when a candidate or politician goes to a school for a function or a speech, the school ceases to be a “gun free zone,” yet somehow that’s not a problem.
Anyway, it just so happens that the Daily Mail found one such victim, who is still in the hospital after losing a kidney from a gunshot wound suffered during the Oregon shooting. You’d think that after a harrowing experience like that, Cheyenne Fitzgerald would be all in for the lefts gun control 
(confiscation) plan.
You’d be wrong. Her older brother Jesse, speaking on her behalf said, “We’re pro-Second Amendment, pro-guns. My sister, my mother, my whole family are all in favor. We were talking about it in the hospital and none of us have changed our minds. We should have teachers trained in non-lethal ways to take people down. There is surely a way to defend kids at school. Armed guards on campus maybe.”
His sister stands steadfast for the right to bear arms despite having one of her kidneys removed an additional surgery to remove shrapnel.

The family of another victim, who was killed by the lunatic shooter, also issued a statement saying that they are “shattered beyond belief,” but that this tragedy should not be another excuse to advance further gun control.
“We are hearing so many people talk about gun control and taking people’s guns away,” they said. “If the public couldn’t have guns it would not help since sick people like this will always be able to get their hands on a gun. We need to be able to protect ourselves as a community and as a nation. Please don’t let this horrible act of insanity become about who should or shouldn’t have a gun.”
In my humble opinion, the solution to these school shootings is to arm teachers. Any teacher who wishes to conceal carry should be able. I am 100% certain that the NRA would be more than happy to volunteer to train any educator in the proper use of a firearm, as well as train them in the practical and tactical use of it.
I do not, however, like the idea, as many have proposed, of armed guards and metal detectors in schools. For one: considering the size and scope of some of these schools, guards, like police, could never be dispatched quickly enough. They can’t be everywhere.
And number two is that I personally don’t like the idea of a school having the optic of a prison, with armed guards roaming the halls. We’re supposed to be for freedom – not martial law.
So rather than the signs, welcoming killers, that say “This School is a Gun Free Zone,” signs can be posted that read: “This School is a Protected Zone. Our Teachers are Armed and Well Trained.”
